Crossingpoint

Like Ethiopia, just better dressed
(new recording released 9 May 2006)

She is not magazine perfect enough
Airbrush, shrink, enlarge,
Smoothen, whiten, glisten
Now it'll do, just a frame, a skeleton
To build on to or take away from
Is that a smile or a grimace?
The thousand words it paints
Are only synonyms of false, unhappy and empty.

Does attraction only lie in the eyes?
The bar moves higher with every jump
With every glossy photo and pose
With every pout of electronic lips
Someone is dying!

Go to the mall to see those struck by famine We made them that way With each cat call and lustful look We take food out her mouth Is that a smile or a grimace?
The thousand words it paints
Are only synonyms of false, unhappy and empty.

If you could love with your eyes closed
Maybe she wouldn't be malnourished
Stop pursuing perfection
Do you know who you are?
Do you know who she is?

We are slowly being replaced by replicas of ourselves
(new recording released 9 May 2006)

Copper wire conversations
Put on your best telephone voice
Static words buzz through electric wire fuzz Birds dot the cable-lined sky Like urban sheet music These towers are our new trees

Cell phone signals rush hidden messages through our bodies And run us through like swords penned on paper This is the new wind!

Face to face communication through a heavy fog Are they our voices, Or the voices of computers out here to slowly replace us?

Does our ever-expanding convenience
Not replace parts of us with pistons and spark plugs?
Just more ways in which we are becoming bionic!

These are our new bodies!
