DO KINGS SING IN THE GRAVE - Ray Douglas
Promise me!! That you’ll fall into the arms of a greater resolution.
Wrap around, hand us down
It’s oh so sweet when we drink this in, well can you feel, can you feel it
Rushing down, Soak it up, its oh so good
Let
Us go
And
Clear our heads
Abandon these daggers, abandon these crowns
And forint now
These palaces
Breathe out these empty lungs
Verse
Anthems will rise but kingdoms will fall
The dead will rise to sing their songs
Do kings sing in the grave? I don’t think so
Denial would pull and drag us down
Crawling until would,t recognize
Our hands, our selves
With hearts that think they should be kings
In this moment the kingdoms are ahead
In this motion think of nothing else
Set the celebrations, and make a tribute
Cos this is not about you
Swept away by another season, by another time
So what we chase is meaningless
Like chasing nothing, like chasing the wind
Throw down, your crowns
Run, run until our
Breathes brake through our chests
Until we, we catch this, catch this
Until we, get what we deserve
Abandon these daggers, abandon these crowns
And forint now
These palaces
Breathe out these empty lungs
SNAKES IN OUR LAPS - Ray Douglas
EXPLANATION:
Letting bad things into our lives and how they rob us of our joy, peace, confidence and freedom is what this is all about. I had been watching family members, friends and my self closely at this time when the issue popped up. I kept on noticing how one moment we would be fine then the next moment angry, depressed, negative, confused or just not happy. How inconsistent we are in our moods and personalities. So why I asked? And this song is the answer. We allow so many negative thing into our lives though music ,TV, friends, family members and false doctrines of our faith. Not only that but each time we give ourselves over to negative forces like anger, hate, arrogance, belittling, scandaling and dishonesty we become more negative and they drain us of who we meant to be. We make “pet snakes” out of these forces instead of killing them, we hold on to them because its easier to keep them, instead of just putting some real effort and will power into stopping them before they grow and eventually become so friendly and accustomed to us that we don’t notice them .They just become part of our daily lives and we feed them, look after them and learn to love them. When I thought of the title I had this picture in my head of my house infested with snakes .The snakes were coming out of everything everywhere TV, books, cupboards, windows, mirrors, couches etc….and its was just a metaphor of how these negative issues live with us we take them home we invite them home and we allow them to breed.
The majority of the song is positive and how we must control these things and not let them control us. How there is a better way and there is a better standard we should be living for. And that there is so much hope for us cos a person with out hope is a person with out life. We can’t keep blaming other people and things and then not looking at ourselves and not trying do something to make the necessary changes in our lives.
We can’t claim the victory in this life with out believing it and being a part of it. What we watch, hear, see and choose to partake in turns to thoughts, thoughts become actions, actions habit, habits become a lifestyle and your lifestyle affects our destiny!!!
- Ray Douglas |
Our thoughts have run dry and the
Words are not our own
With broken crowns and stolen time, we believe the lies they sell
So get of the high horse cos, its way to high and this fall is fall
That’s planned, computerised and ignored
Up in arms to our feet
Won’t become a plastic population
That’s the sound of chariots
The melody of a conscious generation
Wipe that look off our faces tune out
Re adjust our compulsive thoughts tune in, read in-between the lines and think for our selves, what we’ve come to believe is heresy,
And onslaught on mankind’s reality.
Force fed and drowned out by digital sounds to the explosion of our abilities, let’s turn this to the betterment and seize what we have
And fight fire with fire!!!
Set our selves free on eagles wings from false humanity, make a way that’s never been paved, let’s draw a new line, with crystals of thought bathed in hope, showered across the nations. Set ourselves on eagles wings
Were still awake and were still breathing pushing forward adding names
It’s all over our faces enough is enough, let our actions speak louder than our words
The uniqueness we all claim must be kept alive fully functioning and never bound. Let this be let this be everything we’ve needed it to be, we are conscious we are beating to the march of our on true tune
So lie down again with ourselves and walk tall to be you. Fear has gone fear has left
THE WAY IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FROM THE BEGINNING OF TIME - Ray Douglas
EXPLANATION:
We’ve let this world steal what’s rightfully ours for to long, and its time to take it back!!! It’s about seeing the lies we get fed and standing up to them. Its about taking the good back from the evil, because of this overwhelming goodness inside of each and everyone of us, we want to see the evil of this world better. To do this we have to take ownership of the world we live in and partake in the war between good and evil. We know how the story ends “the bad guy never wins”. But that doesn’t mean we should just sit back and let other people fight. But we must help and be everyday heroes in this war. That it’s never too late to be the people we were meant to be!!! We can’t expect the world to change if we aren’t changing or changed into better people seeing what really matters. We must be alert at all times protecting ourselves, our morals, principals, ethics so our zeal for life never dies and our eyes, hearts minds and spirits are aware of the enemies plans so we can fight back!!!! The enemy has already lost but it’s now up to us to be available to carry on with the battle. The war is won but the battle is not over.

Push back the hand that’s feeding us, it’s not too late its time to change
No more glory to the man, it’s not to late its time to change
Protect your heart and mind
Can we take back the light cos the fire is burning in our eyes, burning in our eyes
Search ourselves and hold our own time and time again we look for strength
Rise above and don’t look back this is what we were made for.. victory!!!
Together we will fight and stand our ground
Burning down their bridges and build our own
Revolution in our time
THE WAKING DAYS OF A NEW LIFE - Ray Douglas
Whispers in our heart, this secrets now our home
Humbled yet born to fight!!!!
Lifting of the veil, and raising of the banner
United hearts to heart!!!!
This is who we are, unshakeable and true
(Beginning and the end)
Lifted up for real, like no time before
Set apart, made brand new!!!
Waiting for the winter, wishing on the light, stronger now to face this stronger now inside
Living face to face, it’s our time to shine
Rise up and make a stand
Sing in twisted tongues in harmony
And they won’t understand
You have made the promise and
Snatched us from the lack
So much more than we could ever dream
made it real made it ours
waiting for the winter, wishing on the light, stronger now to face this stronger now inside
Waking days are here waking days are our are ours are ours
Breathe the light, bring the son, breathe the life
You will not hold us back you will not hold us down
These distant shores are not so far
They are here in us; they're here in us, to breathe this breath to feel this good, wont fade away won’t disappear
And nothing ever felt so good and this will never be the same
I hold on to and know the truth
strip away, letting go, and nothing ever felt so good
The truth so plain it burns my eyes, won’t look away, face the truth, face the cross
LIKE ETHIOPIA, JUST BETTER DRESSED - Will Edgecumbe
EXPLANATION:
This song was written by Will from the Rising End, I hadn’t yet joined the band and he was filling in. At the time Brandon was going to the USA and wanted a demo to take and handout at shows. But when I joined the band and read these lyrics there was no way I wanted to change anything!!! This is an issue which is so close to my heart and something I would have written about anyways. So thanks Will! It’s about how some girls are destroying their minds and bodies because of a certain image they are chasing. It makes me so concerned to see how music ,TV, books, advertising, friends, family and men are making women try and live up to this so called “perfection”. How this is causing illnesses like anorexia and mental insecurities which in turn affect their health. How women will go to all extents of surgery to get the right look. How they must do this or do that to get the right guy. How they must flaunt what they have to get what they want. Women need to find their acceptance in God and not men, they need to know that they are so special and have such an important part to play in this world. That we as men need to treat them with respect and love, that they are not just a “piece of meat” there to serve our every beck and call. That if WE don’t start to make the first move and treat them right they will not change and more and more of our future mothers, sisters and wives will be left confused and dying mentally and physically.

She is not magazine perfect enough
Airbrush, shrink, enlarge,
Smoothen, whiten, glisten
Now it'll do, just a frame, a skeleton
To build on to or take away from
Is that a smile or a grimace?
The thousand words it paints
Are only synonyms of false, unhappy and empty.
Does attraction only lie in the eyes?
The bar moves higher with every jump
With every glossy photo and pose
With every pout of electronic lips
Someone is dying!
Go to the mall to see those struck by famine We made them that way With each cat call and lustful look We take food out her mouth Is that a smile or a grimace?
The thousand words it paints
Are only synonyms of false, unhappy and empty.
If you could love with your eyes closed
Maybe she wouldn't be malnourished
Stop pursuing perfection
Do you know who you are?
Do you know who she is?
WE ARE SLOWLY BEING REPLACED BY REPLICAS OF OURSELVES - Will Edgecumbe
EXPLANATION:
Again this song was written by Will from the Rising End when he was the stand in vocalist for Crossingpoint. Another great job!!!
We are slowly getting replaced by technology: our jobs, lifestyles and everything else around us. It’s not all bad. I’m writing this on a pc which you are reading on a pc on a website on the internet!!! What this is about is being aware of these things. That they are destroying our environment and are taking away our personal interaction in this world. People don’t even have to leave the house to live anymore. They just use the net, shopping, banking, friends, hobbies, entertainment, love-life….etc. The more and more advanced we are becoming the more we are wanting these things and become obsessed with having the new this or new that. Again this is not necessarily a bad thing, but when it affects our judgment on people, and our acceptance of them - then it IS.
“They have money, so I will respect them more” must be born!!!
Also, we become so dependent on our gadgets for everything, just think back to when you could remember so many peoples’ phone numbers. So again hear what I’m saying it’s not all bad, a lot of it is good, but we mustnt get obsessed and so dependant of our technology that it over takes our lives and we forget who we are and what we are capable of.

Copper wire conversations
Put on your best telephone voice
Static words buzz through electric wire fuzz Birds dot the cable-lined sky Like urban sheet music These towers are our new trees
Cell phone signals rush hidden messages through our bodies And run us through like swords penned on paper This is the new wind!
“Face to face communication through a heavy fog Are they our voices, Or the voices of computers out here to slowly replace us? .”
Does our ever-expanding convenience
Not replace parts of us with pistons and spark plugs?
Just more ways in which we are becoming bionic!
